Week 13

This week marks the end to my PDP weekly reports. After folowing last weeks post where I said I decided to do revision I chose to revise Business areas I struggled in. I focused on revising "Motivation Theories" as I found I struggled in this aspect of the exam papers I did. I have also done revision for Media where I revised "Camera Shots", as I thought that was the area which was not as strong as the others. As I have done this revision next week I am going to go back to completing coursework for Mr Reilly, as I don't want to become far behind in the coursework.

Week 12

After getting my C in last weeks Business mock exam I decided to do a bit more revision on the areas I struggled with. Since I have done the tests I can see which areas of the test are marked wrong and begin revision on those areas, which is useful for identifying areas which are worse than others. This week I have mainly been focusing on revision for Media, Business and History as I spent the last week completing M3 for Mr Reilly therefore not leaving much time for revision. I am now finding the balance between revision for exams and coursework.

Week 11

Following last weeks post about Business studies I have completed another past paper in preparation of my upcoming Business exam in June. The paper was marked and I got a C, which was lower than my previous B I had. I believe this lower grade was because I had timed myself properly instead of the last time where I may have had longer than the ordinary time limit. In regards to IT I have now completed M3 for Mr Reilly and done a small amount of work for Mr Allen's Unit 1. With the revision I have been doing I have found it difficult to manage the revision with the coursework I have for IT.

Week 10

 This week I received my results from the Business past paper I had completed a couple of weeks ago. I got a B which I was really happy with as my target grade is a D, however I do believe this high grade may have been due to me having a slightly longer time to complete the past paper (The test is 1 hour and 30 minutes long). With this factor in mind my future past papers need to be timed in order to prepare myself for the exams. In IT I still have M3, D1 and D2 to complete and still a lot of work for Unit 1. The reason I haven't been completing much work in these areas is due to the exam preparation for other subjects I have been doing. I feel that once exams are out of the way I can get round to finishing these tasks without the pressure of upcoming exams.

Week 9

This week I have took a break from subjects such as Media, Business and History to finish off some of the last work required for Unit 2 for Mr Reilly. Right now I just have to finish off M3, D1 and D2. Once these have been finished my Unit 2 will be up to a distinction grade which is what I have been aiming for. Unit 1 still requires a lot of work as I have wanted to get Unit 2 out of the way so I haven't really focused on Unit 1. I will probably begin to complete Unit 1 once I have finished all of my exams for other subjects, this is so I can plan effectively and revise more without having to worry about finishing Unit 1. After exams are finished I will have around 2 weeks to give me time to finish Unit 1 which is more than enough time.

Week 8

Having just my IT coursework this week means I have had a lot of time to focus on other subjects such as Media, Business and History. I have done multiple History essays and found myself to be getting a C/D grade when my target is a D. I am pleased with this result as I find essay writing to be quite difficult, it is an area in which I would like to improve in. History is a subject where it is essay based where as my other subjects aren't, this is why it may seem harder because I have not had much essay writing skills required in the past. My revision in terms of subjects such as Media and Business are going well. I have recently completed a past paper in Business and I'm waiting on the teacher to mark it now.

Week 7

Just like with Business Studies because we have finished our coursework for Media we have now moved onto learning information for the exam, also in May. Just like Business the information I need to learn is crucial as the exam takes up 50% of the total grade. I believe I am strong in Media, I find the terminology easy to remember and feel confident for the exam. We are coming to the end of learning terminology for Business studies now, I have began making revision cards for each of the different sections to help me remember the different terms. In IT I still have work to finish to distinction but it is slowly progressing forward.

Week 6

I have now pretty much completed my Media coursework (View my progress here: http://jameskay7361.blogspot.co.uk/ )  , after working on it for months there are areas in which I wish I would have improved on. My planning and research lacked compared to the other parts of my finished product and some things took longer than expected, for example editing my pictures and creating a video took longer than I thought it would, causing some problems in the time I had to complete other things. On the other hand I am working hard in my other subjects. I have began to start making improvements to my Unit 2 work for Mr Reilly in regards to pushing it towards a distinction level. Unit 1 is still lacking in comparison to Unit 2, but I will move onto that in a later date.

Week 5

I have been working hard on ensuring that I complete my Media media coursework this past week. The deadline is just around the corner and I have almost completed it. I just have a couple of pages left to complete and I am proud of the work have done. Due to this I have not done much within the areas of my other subjects, however I have just recently finished my Unit 1 P6, my guide to blogger. After my Media coursework is complete I can begin to focus on other subject areas such as IT and Business studies.

Week 4

After finishing some of my IT work I have now moved onto making the finishing touches towards my Media coursework. I have now finished a few of the pages within the websites. For example I have recently finished the Contact us page and have begun beginning the Progress page. It is important that I work hard on this Media coursework as the deadline is becoming increasingly close. If I do not complete this coursework it could cause a bad grade for my overall media as the coursework makes up 50% of the grade.

Week 3

This week I have been completing work for both of the IT Units 1 and 2. All of my work in Unit 2 is now to a Pass/Merit grade however in Unit 1 there still needs to be work completed, this is going to be my main focus this week as it is important that I reach my Distinction target grade in regards to what I would like to do in the future.The revision we are doing in Business is going well but at the moment it is not my main priority so I have not done a large amount of revision.

Week 2

Following from the coursework tasks mentioned in Week 1 I successfully managed to complete all of the mentioned coursework tasks. I am still working on my Media website task as the deadline is for the end of March. In regards to the Media task I have recently taken some photos for my Website and have began creating the different pages for the site. Since we have finished all of our coursework for Business studies we have now began revising past lessons taught so that we understand all the required terminology for the exam in May. It is important that I learn this information as I would like to achieve a good grade in Business as I believe it will help in my future endeavors in an IT based job.

Week 1

Within this week I have been completing multiple coursework based tasks. I have worked upon my Unit 2 work for Mr Reilly which is now reaching almost Pass and Merit completion, I still need to work towards the Distinction grade on some of my past work. I have also been completing my Business Unit 3 coursework, I have just been finishing off the final task Part D, after we have completed this task we will be beginning to complete more revision for our upcoming exam in May. Finally I have also been working upon my Media website coursework, this is beginning to reach the end as my deadline is in March. I need to make sure that I plan my coursework times out so I have enough time to complete each different coursework tasks for all of my lessons without falling behind in any of them.
